Glad to see they can admit it when they're wrong. It never occurred to me that it might be a tea partier, though I did wonder if it was a militia member, for one reason only. They used nonexplosive fertilizer. It just seems like the Islamic extremists have more experience at blowing things up. And it's just freakin' scary to think how close they've come to doing it again in America. The militia crazies don't really seem that frightening in comparison.

Initial Analysis Of The Times Square Bombing Attempt
by leavingwt ininitial analysis of the times square bombing attempt.
and so it is with target new york.
it is entirely possible, nay likely, that the recent times square car bomb was placed at the doorstep of the viacom building's main northeast entrance because of the south park controversy.

How did this get turned into a left vs. right thing? If the bomb had exploded, wouldn't it have killed people of all political persuasions?
You know, just because a media outlet reports that the guy's house was foreclosed on, doesn't mean liberals feel he's justified to try to blow people up. All media (other than Fox) does not equal the left's opinion (like we all feel the same about everything).
Thank you to the vendor in Times Square, the cops on the scene first, the FBI and the Emirates airline employee who called in the suspicious ticket purchase.

Closing the barn door after the horses have fled
by jgnat inthis "news" is months late and i post it now simply because i don't want to let the moment slip by.
these are direct quotes from david pesch at the edmonton 2009 "keep on the watch" district convention.
they were startling enough for me to make notes verbatim.

Scully: "Public statements like this need to be documented, because all it takes is one desperate mentally off-balance listener to hear this message and act on a long-standing urge to "save" their loved ones from being destroyed at Armageddon by murdering them."
I actually struggled with this idea a lot when I was a kid. I remember sitting in my 3rd grade class, thinking if I was really unselfish and loving, I would murder my classmates so they could be in Paradise. It would be the ultimate sacrifice, since I myself then wouldn't be able to be there. Fortunately, I wasn't crazy enough to try. ;-)
Good to see you, jgnat!

You're smart enough to make me have to look up lucubration.
Because I wasn't smart enough to know what it meant.

There was a sister at the KH who did that once and ended up walking almost all the way to her usual seat at the front before someone grabbed her. God, that would suck. Because here it is 25 years later and that's the first thing I think of when I think about her.

Furor grows over Arizona's illegal immigration law
by Sam Whiskey inwhat am i missing?
why are the illegal immigrants demanding their rights?
they're illegal, they don't have the rights of an american citizen because they are not citizens.

"This is what actually happened. I am not making anything up."
I have a friend from London going through something very similar. Another problem for them is that getting a visa costs $1,000 (whether you're approved or not) and they don't have it right now, so it's easier for him to go to England first (now that they're married). I'm not sure what that $1,000 is for exactly - just taking her word for it.

LOA = Law Of Attraction
"I'm a (half-assed) practioner of LOA and I don't like to discuss it. I will say, I have seen it work countless times."
Can you give us an example of how you've seen it work?

"LWT, goofy that they don't require ID to vote. And even goofier if it's considered racist."
I agree. I hope at the very least that you have to sign next to your name when you vote and that your name isn't listed at more than one location.

"Here in MS, you do not have to show an ID to vote."
Not even a voter registration card?
